Ribadesella city centre

Ribadesella (Asturian: Ribeseya) is a council of the autonomous community of the Principality of Asturias. It is bordered to the north by the Cantabrian elmar, to the east by Llanes, to the south by Cangas de Onís and Parres and to the west by Caravia. Founded by Alfonso X the Wise. It was one of the main Asturian ports of the nineteenth century. It has a population of 6,242 inhabitants (INE, 2011).

The council also has numerous companies dedicated to adventure sport, such as canoeing, caving or climbing. The first Saturday of August after the 2nd is celebrated the famous International Sella Descent, where athletes from all over the world attend and a large local festival is held.

Also this council stands out for the tourist variety it offers, and above all for the activities surrounding the cave of Tito Bustillo, famous for its prehistoric paintings and for the footprints of dinosaur.
