Jurassic Museum of Asturias

In the Muja you see the life of the dinosaurs until the appearance of man

its location in Colunga near the beach of The Greek place where you can see footprints and skeletal remains of these animals.

The permanent exhibition is impressive 2,000 meters of visible history.

The tour can be on your own or with a guide in this way the journey from the Mesozoic to the present day help us to know more the information by the curiosities and discoveries by research.

The exterior of the museum is amazing there is a mega park with slides, climbing, swings and rockers is completed with huge figures of dinosaurs,to enjoy the details and take pictures like the T-rex…. and others.

You can complete the visits with workshops such as discovering fossil remains, laboratory visits, didactic experiences … Etc. the Muja is an ideal place for children and adults

From 1 February to 30 June and from 1 September to 31 December 2016 (low season)

  • Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from 10:00 to 14:30 and from 15:30 to 18:00 h.
  • Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays and from 1 to 11 September, from 10:30 to 14:30 and from 16:00 to 19:00 h.
  • Closed Monday and Tuesday, except exceptional days listed below: 21, 22, 28 and 29 March, 2 May, 31 October and 1 November and 5 and 6 December.
  • Closed: from 1st to 31st January and 24th, 25th and 31st December.

From 1 July to 31 August 2016 (high season)

  • Every day, from 10:30 to 20:00 hours, uninterrupted.

How to get to MUJA:

-By road: Take the A8, Exit 337 – Colunga. Once in Colunga, take AS-257 towards Lastres.

MUJA is located in the P.K. 1,5.

Mining Museum

Whoever wants to see work in a mine, this is the place.

In the village of San Vicente del Entrego in the council of San Martín del Rey Aurelio, it has extensive exhibitions and machinery, is complemented by an underground mine where it is accessed through a cage. Know the way of coal extraction, pass through a gallery, see evolution in lampisty, fossils, minerals.. an unforgettable experience of the tough world of mining.

Porrua Ethnographic Museum

From the east of Asturias, located in the town of Porrua consists of a set of traditional rural houses where to collect and safeguard the cultural heritage.

Themes with photographs, traditional objects, gastronomic activities (butters, cheese.. ), samples of shingle manufacturing, textiles, tools, carpentry workshop, traditional clothing, laundry… Etc.

Asturian books and music complement the museum.

How to Get There

We are in Porrúa, 5 km from Llanes, in the Eastern Zone of Asturias

By road you reach from the Autovía del Cantábrico, exit Porrúa, you reach a roundabout where you must take direction Celorio-Llanes, until the first junction on the right where the indicator to Porrúa is located.

Inside the village, the Museum’s estate has its entrance in front of the church.
